ABOUT IMPACT HORTICULTURE & STARTING MATERIALS

TKI Horticulture & Starting Materials (TKI T&U) stimulates innovation and collaboration within the Dutch horticulture and starting materials sector. Together with companies, knowledge institutions, and government bodies, we work on solutions for societal challenges and strengthen the sector's international competitive position.

The sector encompasses all plant chains: from starting materials such as seeds, seed potatoes, and plant material to cultivation in greenhouses and open fields, and from processing and supply to trade and distribution. It is a broad sector with subsectors ranging from vegetables, fruit, and trees to flowers and bulbs.

The Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (KIA T&U) provides direction for joint research and innovation programs through 2027. Public-private partnerships (PPPs) form the basis for this, with a strong focus on applied research and practical impact. Through programs such as IMPACT T&U, international cooperation, and the Human Capital Agenda, we contribute to knowledge development, valorization, and talent development. In this way, we are building a future-proof, innovative, and internationally leading sector together.
